Creating a Project
Projects in Liona are the fundamental way to organize your users, policies, and AI providers. Think of a project as a workspace that helps you logically separate different use cases or environments.
Consider creating separate projects for different use cases such as employee access, end-user applications, and testing environments. This keeps your AI provider keys, policies, and users organized and makes management easier.
Creating Your First Project
When you first sign up for Liona, you’ll be guided through creating your first project. For additional projects, follow these steps:
Click the project switcher
The project switcher is located at the top of the sidebar in the Liona dashboard. It displays the name of your current project. In the dropdown menu, click the “New Project” option.
Enter project details
- Select the organization where you want to create the project
- Enter a project name (e.g., “Prod”, “Employees”, “Testing”)
- Project names must be at least 4 characters
- Spaces are not allowed
- After entering the project details, click the “Create Project” button. The system will automatically create:
- A new project
- A default “Unlimited” policy for the project
Managing Multiple Projects
Multiple projects help you separate concerns and maintain organization in your Liona setup:
- Employee Projects: Manage provider keys shared with your internal teams
- End-User Projects: Control access for your application’s users
- Test Projects: Set up isolated environments for development and testing
Next Steps
After creating a project, you’ll want to:
- Add AI providers to connect to external AI APIs
- Configure policies to control usage limits
- Add users who will access your project’s AI capabilities
Each project has its own set of providers, policies, and users. Assets from one project are not shared with other projects.
